What I wanted to write about were the problem of Japan and the Japanese on the one hand and that of fatherhood1 on the other. In my twenties, as is natural, I was opposed to fatherhood. I was like that until The Temple of the Golden Pavilion. However, after getting married, I found that I could not but treat it positively.
