On the Friendship of Women, by Yukio Mishima
"It is foolish talk to draw a sharp distinction between friendship and love. Friendship and love may rest on identical physiological foundations."
On the Friendship of Women
Yukio Mishima
Because, unlike the friendship of men, the friendship of women is unlikely to be entered into for future cooperation in work or relations of interest, it is safe to hold that it is often merely an ephemeral emotional relationship before marriage, and that after marriage, other than meeting once or twice per year at class reunions, relationships between school friends mostly come to an end.
