Doubt Democracy, by Kure Tomofusa
"If one is to reject communism then one must also reject democracy. If one is to declare communism bankrupt then one must also declare democracy bankrupt."

I am not a mystic. I don’t believe in religion, either. But even so, there are times when I almost believe in “Providence.” It is obviously a mere coincidence that the collapse of the East Bloc began in the summer of 1989, precisely the two hundredth anniversary of the French Revolution. But it is unavoidable if I feel something like “Providence” now, when that has snowballed into the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Do not misunderstand me. I am not saying that democracy, the ideal of the French Revolution, is now finally about to be realized in the former East Bloc as well. I am saying exactly the opposite, that the false idea of democracy from the French Revolution onward has here and now shown the first signs of global breakdown. I am saying that a period of great disorder is about to begin.
